Inspired by "Come On Eileen"
Poor old Livvy Liv
Sounded sad upon the radio, she's hoping for 50 million parts per mililiter.
Our mothers cried and sang along and who'd blame them.
Now you're grown, so grown, now I must say more than ever.
Go Toora Loora Toora Loo-Rye-Aye and we can sing just like our fathers.
Come on Ovaries, I swear (well I mean)
At this moment you mean everything,
With you in that dress my thoughts I confess verge on dirty
Ah come on Ovaries.
Remember Toora Loora Toora Loo-Rye-Aye Ovaries I'll hum this tune forever.

I had bloodwork and sonogram today, the seventh poking and prodding in the last eleven days. My estrogen levels (E2) shot up in the last 24 hours. (From 842-1596) I received the call from Dr. K who said that it is much higher than they'd like to see. She said that my estrogen had been rising nicely - doubling about every two days. But, the results today looked like it doubled in one day. Aparently if this rises too much than it could mean hyperstimulation. No Gon.al-F for me today.
Kind of interesting that the acupuncturist noticed yesterday that my abdomen was a bit swollen. I actually hadn't noticed. Guess the acupuncturist knows their stuff.
The other concern, although this is not one she brought up - I did, is possibly too many follicles growing. I have one big one between 17-18. Then I have THREE on the left around 13-14 in size, with smaller ones behind it. I made a comment that on the black/white sono screen the area looked like mosaic tile. Dr. K said, "Or a cluster of grapes".

Holy Schnikes! I don't want my ovary to look like that!
This IUI could get cancelled quicker than you can say, Jon & Kate Plus 8 need therapy.
In all seriousness. I'm concerned. I was prepared for this IUI to not work if it turned into a BFN. I can handle a negative beta and move on to IVF. I've been doing so well with the positive attitute, but this? A cancellation? Please don't be cancelled, that would totally suck.
Come On Ovaries...Or I'll hum this tune forever...

*grabbing my pom poms and chanting/singing* COME ON OVARIES! Know your roll, ovaries..get with the program! Sending you and your ovaries LOTS of love, hon!
ReplyDelete*HUGS*
I've had a talk with my ovaries and asked them to have a word with yours. I'm sure this technique will work.
ReplyDeleteYou are not only super cute with that song, but super wise not to end up as an ill-fated TLC show family.
ReplyDeletePraying your ovaries BEHAVE so it doesn't come to that!!!!
OK. You may have to read this out loud to your ovaries because I don't know if they can read the computer screen.

*ahem*
Listen here you two. You need to get with the program and give Liv a break. We need steady. This is a marathon and not a sprint. Now go out there and stim in a graceful and ladylike manner. Liv will give you ice cream or sorbet (your pick) if you comply. That is all.
=======================
I'm sorry it had to be a little tough love, but they'll look back and appreciate this some day. :-D
Come on ladies! You know what you are supposed to do! Behave and double like good girls--not too fast, and not too slow. Jeez, Liv doesn't need to be spending all of her time worried about whether you are going to do what you KNOW you should do. Now step to it, or...er...um...grow to it?...double to it?...you get the point. Just do the business at hand and stay away from that nasty hyperstim scenario. Mmmkay?
ReplyDeleteGood ovaries! :-)
Geez...I sure hope they get with the program.
ReplyDeleteOkay ovaries, slow your roll there girls! Love the song (who can argue with "Come on Eileen"?) and your note about your IUI, which "could get cancelled quicker than you can say Jon & Kate Plus 8 need therapy" cracked me up! I certainly hope there's not a cancellation in your future (or an uncomfortable reality show!).
ReplyDeletei hope there is no cancellation for you and your ovaries! if there are too many follicles, will they convert you to IVF, or are you not ready for that?
ReplyDeletegood luck!
PS I gave you an award on my IF blog. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'll be rooting for you!
