Could have been a very bad Monday. Marvy and I traded cars so he could take mine to get the oil changed (he's very sweet that way) but it threw me off. Plus, we just came back from out of town and my wallet wasn't in my purse...that usually gets me in trouble on a Monday...
I grabbed the keys off the tv, turned on the alarm, grabbed my purse and lunch and realized I didn’t have my wallet. Turn off the alarm run back upstairs, thinking I need to remember my cell phone too. Grab my wallet from the backpack, and forget the cell by the time I’m back in the kitchen.
Pick up purse, lunch and keys again. Open the front door and realize the car’s in the garage and not the driveway. Go to the back door, lock the door with everything in hand and as I shut it I think to myself that I hope I didn’t forget anything b/c I don’t have a key to the house. (I did…but I thought I didn’t) Get in the car and realize I left my cell in the kitchen, but it’s too late b/c everythings locked and I don’t have my keys.
Let’s hope I don’t need it.
I open the garage pull out the car and realize I don’t have a way to shut the garage as the garage opener in his car is not working. It’s raining cats and dogs. I get out thinking very hard to NOT lock myself out of the car… run to push the button and run out to get out of the garage, trip the safety beam and try again. Make it on the second attempt. Run back to the car and take off for work. Get as far as the elementary school and feel the car sputtering (this may have been my imagination, but it did not feel normal – it felt like it was sputtering) I look down and see the fuel light is on.
How long has it been on I wonder??? Am I on fumes? Totally freaked out praying I just make it to the gas station. Pull into the gas station get out my WALLET that I’m so happy I grabbed… pay for gas and go. The whole time at the gas pump I was thinking about the “what if” I ran out of gas, having to walk to the gas station with no wallet and cell phone and no key to get back into the house while it’s raining cats and dogs.
Phew! Glad it didn’t happen like that...but do I NEED A VACATTION or WHAT??!!!
